Martha took me out to the boonies where I found a nice creek. I parked in the middle, strung up my hammock and relaxed!

Cool. I called over to Montrose on Friday and they said they just opened the gate. How were the trail conditions? I was told that the Utah side had overgrown and needed work. What did you encounter?

The only issue we faced was that some of the signage was damaged on the Utah side, which caused some confusion a couple of times. Nothing too bad that prevented us from making it into Moab for beers. The road was fairly narrow also on the Utah side due to being overgrown, but someone had clearly been through and cut the major stuff. The other thing we encountered was Utah's spring bear season. Our group was surrounded by 15 hunting dogs at one point stopping us for a bit. The group of hunters claimed 6 bears so far. Fun time.

Took both Jeeps out on the trail together for the first time today. Played in some mud and on some rocks.

We went up to Desert Pines Campground to get out of the Vegas heat. A cool little oasis in the pines20170529_150721.jpg20170529_150704.jpg on Mormon Well Road, a 47 mile road between hwy 95 and hwy 93 just north of Vegas in the National Desert Wildlife Refuge. Great views and enjoyed 85 degree temps rather than 105 in Vegas.

The Jeep took us to a local park today. My Dad was diagnosed with Parkinson's over 25 years ago and still loves to ride bikes. He can't walk 3 feet, but can easily ride a bike 3 miles. He loves the Jeep too, so many handles to grab on too! [emoji3]
