I'll be one to thank both of you for your service. I didn't serve and I respect the hell out of those who did/do. Thank you from all of us.

not when it comes to people making claims on behalf of other service members and especially not when people use their "service" as an excuse to publically ask for discounts because of it. I was making a point based off of his claim that people who served would do the same thing. I have served and I dont post threads soliciting discounts.

RLTW!!!

I don't think you needed to lay out your resume nor your promotable status and length of service to make a point, being proud and bragging are very different.

I think most would know you serve or have served based on your RLTW (Rangers Lead the Way).

I am surprised with that being on your signature because most Elite operators would boast their SF experience over ranger time being that they think cag-sf-ranger in ranks of awesomeness.

But then cag guys normally don't post they were or are in the unit until they retire.

But that's my opinion based on lots of call of duty and air soft experience.

I have 8 years of active duty service. 4 years in the 75th Ranger Regiment, 1 year in 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment Delta (aka Delta Force), and 3 years in 3rd Special Forces Group. 5 deployments a slew of awards and im currently sitting in promotable status for E7 (7 in 7 yup!). So let me be the first to completely disagree with you as to the way you are going about asking for a discount, since I have also served. I ask for military discounts but I dont solicite them online to help finance my Jeep build up. If youre looking for a military discount, do yourself a favor and ask in private. A lot of companies offer military discounts and benefits and it cant hurt to ask, but dont start multiple public threads asking for discounts. It reflects poorly on you and the military service.

RLTW!!!

Haha! Now I know what is different when the support guys say we almost get the same training as the operators.

Well, there is the other small needed bits of criteria that separates support and operational guys.......a selection and assessment course, then MOS training, then language training, then SERE school, then all the advanced skill set training once on a team, then the deployments where you are all alone in team houses. Other than that, yep, support and team guys.....peas in a pod!

Well technically we are all Lanscape artists:cheesy::cheesy:

That would be an additional skill identifier. As an E-8 I was still pushing a lawn mower around the 5th SFG area. In group everyone is still a permanent E-4 on the DA-6 roster

Did they have to interview you guys before they filmed this video?

Good eye OverlanderJK, and although I did not have a starring role I was a "behind the scenes" paid consultant for that group for almost 7 years, but oddly enough I was hired as the subject matter expert fitness trainer to the "biker" and "construction worker". Never made it on to the stage :grayno:
