We'll guys I went ahead and put 285/70R17 NITTOS Trail Grappler M/Ts on my JK and love it. I am a mild off roader not extreme and these are perfect a pic will follow tomorrow.

I am considering putting these on my wife's Sahara but on an 18" wheel. Do you have any rubbing with it being on a stock wheel?
Congrats:rock:

I tried putting the tires on my stock rims and Discount tire wouldn't do because they are7 1/2" wheels and NITTO preferred 8" wheels to mount them on. Some people will still do it but they won't. And to answer your question NO they didn't or don't rub. So I both rims to fit the tires

It's Bought sorry type'o
Did you have to run spacers, or was there enough clearance from inside tire to ball joints and other suspension parts?
There is room and no rubbing at all. I did not use spacers
Its all liabilities, if the tire specs say 8"+ rim width, then that's what they are supposed to fallow.

I beleive 285 is the widest tire you can put on a stock wheel. I would recommend changing her wheels to a set of 17's eventually because the price difference from a 17 to an 18 can be as much as 70 a tire depending on what you're going with.
So yours doesn't rub because you bought aftermarket, correct? That is how mine is setup. I have 35s on a 17 that I bought. She wants to keep her 18 inch factory wheels but larger tires. A 285 will fit on the wheel just like many have said but I agree some stores will not mount based on company policy. Thanks for the reply.
