Maybe this is old news but I received an email this morning announcing it. Looks pretty sweet!
 
nah, it's pretty new news. we've been wanting to get a 2nd hero2 for a while now but, glad that we waited.

The integrated wifi looks nice but the flat lens case is interesting. I need to read the details but I'm thinking that will work underwater without as much distortion. I was going to buy a separate underwater case for my Hero2.

Thanks for posting this up Mike, the GoPro was on the short list of purchases for Christmas. I think I will hold tight and wait for this newer model.

I want one just for the remote. Its really a pain in the ass to turn it on and off everytime I stop on a trail ride.

Agreed. Or worse walking back to your jeep after having been out helping people on an obstacle (or even having lunch) and seeing that the red light is still on. :doh:

FYI you can buy just the remote for the gopro2 for around $80. I bought one on JKX but didn't have a computer to allow me to download the software update.

YES, the app for the iPhone/iPad was available as of 10-09-12, but the android app is still not available.

I picked up the HERO2 and Wifi at the Off Road show a couple of weeks back and used it in Death Valley last weekend. It was great using the wifi remote with my iPad as a controller/viewer, having the HERO2 mounted on my front bumper. I thought of getting another HERO2, but got the announcement of the new HERO3. :brows:
