Jon Snow (formerly Plan-C) The WAYALIFE XJ Build

That's coming along really nice! :thumb:

Thanks, we're really happy with the way things are coming out

Bushwackers look nice and really open things up. Any idea what bumpers you are going to go with yet?

Haven't decided yet. We have tow points front and rear so we're okay just leaving well enough alone for now. Definitely need to get some rocker guards though.

Nice ! That's awesome , looks great.. Still in debate if I want the flat ones, or the cut-outs ..

It was a tough decision for us as well. We originally put in an order for the cutout flares but changed our minds at the last minute. We're really happy with the way these look.

Those look very nice. :thumb: I think some EVO style skins would look good. Hell, even 80's style diamond plate wouldn't look bad. Lol.

That would be pretty badass but, I don't think EVO has any intensions of getting into the XJ market.

This is really nice :thumb:,I'm trying to convince my neighbor to do this on his but he's a cheap son of a gun.:grayno:

Well, you could show him just how cheap it is to build one up. If you do the math, what we're doing is all being done on a budget.

Hows it sit next to rubicat? I saw him sitting back there :bleh:

Sent from my phone?

You know, I'll have to take a side by side pic of them tomorrow and post it up. :yup:

That looks really good Eddie ! Was wondering what you were going to do after the lift to get some up travel. At least now you have some room.

Up front, there's plenty of room. From the top of the tread to the lowest part of the tire, I get a measurement of 5.5". From the top of the bump stop extension I installed to the base of the jounce stop, I am seeing 3". Even at a full bump and articulated, the math suggests that we will clear just fine. On the rear, things are going to be a bit close. Even with the trimming, from the top of the tread to the lowest part of the fender, I get a measurement of 4.75". From the axle to the top of the extended bump stop, I am seeing 4". While the math shows that we should be okay, I have a feeling that at a full bump and articulated, there is a slight chance that we will see some minor rubbing. Of course, we're not building this Jeep to be another Moby or Rubicat so, unless it's real bad, I think we've accomplished what we set out to do and are quite happy with the lower stance. :yup:

Ill have to say im loving the XJ build it reminds me of my build days!!! i will say the xjs dont lean to much when you remove both sway bars ( i did that) of course i have driven an old 51 international pickup with no sway bars so yeah. also i want to just say i built up an xj before it was cool! lol these things have so much potential!! awesome build keep it up!!! :thumb:

Who is fighting? I'm trying to help. You?
BTW JK Noob is a bit of sarcasm on my part.....

Maybe I missed something but, who was it that you were trying to help? :idontknow:

Looks great, now flex it up and let us know if it rubs.

No need to flex it up to know that there is a chance the rear will rub some. Even if it does, I wouldn't see it as being a big deal.

Nice shot!! Like I said, a sway bar isn't necessary - it's just a personal preference of mine. I tend to load up my rigs and with the extra weight, have found the addition of a rear sway bar to be helpful but, that's just me.

So you have 2" bumps top extensions correct ? How big are the bump stops including that? Or is it only 2"?

Yes, the front bump stop extension on the axle are 2" tall and the rear bump stops are 2" longer than stock. The Rancho kit didn't come with bump stop extensions as they aren't really needed but, I wanted to keep a lower stance and installed them in an effort to help make that possible. Again, looking at the measurements, the fronts should work out fine and the rear will be close.

Ah okay , I wasn't sure what it came with

Well, anyone who knows me knows that I do tend to drive my Jeeps a bit faster than most would prefer so, that might be where we differ

now that is my que to say thank you eddie!!! :clap2: after watching your vids and seeing how the DTD handles on the JK i have decided that when i can afford both a JK and to have mel put the DTD on it that i will enjoy driving it fast!!!! but i will say i have got my xj up to some pretty nice speeds and will say the normal coil front and real leaf is not bad when you actually have the lift to handle the travel!!!

Oh boy, those flares definitely kicked the form and function up a notch! Two notches? Anyway...:thumb:

Eddie; I tagged you on Instagram on a kick ass and very clean XJ my buddy aparently pulled out of her ass. I don't think it's hers but shes riding in it to some event. The thing is awesome!
