What is the longest trail/expeditin you did drivin your JK?

Hi all

I'm from Russia and newbie here at Wayalife. We had a tread at our local Wrangler forum regarding expedition cars and possibility to use JK as an expedition rig. Many votes pro, some votes contra. But Russia is a country of Nissans and Toyotas, we have very few JK owners who use their cars outside cities.

What is the longest trail / expedition you did in your JK life in terms of miles and days?

The only trip Ive done that might count is the Mojave Trail. I think it was 150miles with the side trips we did. Started the trail Friday around noon and finished Sunday around noon.
 
I have taken multiple expedition trips, the longest was for a two week period and covered more than 5000 miles or about 11,900 kilometer. The Wrangler Unlimited provides a lot of room for cargo and has a very comfortable ride. Long distance is not a problem for the Wrangler JK and they are very good off road.
 
Hawaii is the same way, mostly Toyotas and some Nissans but the built Jeep is a bit more rare. There are a lot of stock Jeeps but they are mostly rentals.

That said, I've done a nice 3 day overlanding trip with the Jeep before and it was never and problem.
 
Putting the miles on

I put just under 40,000 miles on my jeep the first 7 months I owned it. Its the JK Unlimited. I did 1900 miles in 27 hours twice with in weeks of each other. I would highly recomment a JK for an all purpose vehicles. Course you also have to look at parts. Jeeps are cheap to fix up here but are they in Russia?

The cheapest JK from the dealer comes at USD 55000, so its a rich man toy here. We can have some chip aftermarket parts, but we need to pay for a set of wheel bearings, seals and retainers for rear axle more than USD 350 (just to compare). And we also need to pay something like triple price for all stuff comes from USA. Waiting time to have spare parts is from 7 to 30 days.

Damn! Sounds like you need to build a nice rig here and ship it over there. It would be way cheaper!
 
this way can cause some problems and a lot of extra money, but I have JK partially build in US.

Anyway - in my Toyota HDJ80 I did some trips 7-10 days long off the road. Does anyone do the same with JK?

My longest trip was just over 6000 miles from Austin, TX through Colorado, Utah, over to Oregon and up to Washington and back. I can't wait to do it again!
 
One day i plan to make a Moab trip. It will be a few years away at the least.

that would prob. put me at around 3000 miles by just guestimating.
 
I just put 5000 miles on from my Moab trip. In September, I'll be doing another 5000 miles for my Colorado trip.
 
I think the total mileage on mine for the 2012 JKX was ~9000.

Total mileage for my trip to the JKX2012 was 11873km, well worth it.

I have done longer trips, but the 2012 JK Experience is the longest trip that I have done in a JK. My mileage was only about 7000 miles, less than MTG's and way less than the crazy Canadian. Mike I'm still impressed that you and your son drove that far, I hope to wheel with you again someday!
