OBD JScan - Program With Your Smart Phone

When I bought the license, it seemed like it’s only good for 1 VIN. The option was there to buy more, so I think you’d need a license for each vehicle you plan to use it on.

how does this work? If I sell my JK and buy another JK, do I need to buy a new license? Or can use the same if I reset it?
I dont seem to find anything in FAQ.

Also, the adapter itself stores some settings on it? or is VIN locked? Or I can use the same adapter on multiple jeep. (Yes I have 3 Jeeps atm)

Each license that you purchase is good for one VIN. Buy a different Jeep and you will have to buy a new license. Good thing is that a license is cheap and buying a second one is not a big deal.

The OBD2 adapter can be used on any vehicle. I have one adapter and 2 licenses for 2 Jeeps.

I though it was like a Vin lock and could be used on other vehicles like a handheld programer once reset to factory and unmarried from Vin.

The adapter doesn’t store any information on it. It’s just used to communicate between your phone and the vehicle. You can swap it back and forth between vehicles without having to change any settings on either of them.

I’m guessing that your talking about the license. If so, that’s not my understanding. I believe that once the license is purchased and VIN assigned it stays locked into your Apple or Android ID. This method allows for phone upgrades without having to re-purchase anything. Just reload the app and you’re good to go. The developer might be able to reset a license if asked, but they are cheap enough that I wouldn’t bother.

Ok that makes sense.:thumb:

Hey all, I've recently bought this and used with it with a bluetooth adapter I already had (Pixel2 phone). I noticed there's a way with the key in the On position OR the Jeep running with remote start, you can unlock the doors with the app. Anyone have any idea if that's because the Vin is only read when running/on? It's a bit gimicky but it would be fun to unlock with my phone but having to start it with remote start (using the key) then unlocking the doors with the app is pointless when i could just do both with the key.

I’m trying to word this correctly, so bear with me:
For those of you who recalibrated their tire pressure so the low pressure alarm doesn’t go on with larger tires, what did you put in? On JScan, my current value shows FFFFFFFF. No idea what that means. I’d like to set my tires between 24-28. But it’s asking for 8 characters.

Thats odd, I had no issues setting mine at 25#. I also had no issue shutting off tpms due to my new set up not having them.

Hopefully someone has seen this before, are you trying to set it at a range or just 1 single set point?

Make sure your using the right adaptation based on if you have EVIC:

Well, you know how this one goes. When I changed tires, the shop inflated to what the door jam said. No big deal. I didn’t have much faith they would do anything else. So I aired down to 28 thinking I’ll get to the low pressure alarm with the JScan when I felt like messing with it. I had already began making the tire size adjustments in .5” increments. No problem there. That’s all set and speedometer is within 1 mph of gps. I’m feeling like it’s not a big deal, I’ll contact them and see what the 8 characters required are.
I was thinking range to make up for temperature changes, not really concerned because checking my tire pressure is part of my routine maintenance. Shutting them off really wouldn’t be an issue to me, but I’m not 100% sure how to do that either since it didn’t give me that option. Point would be fine too.
I’ll add that my TPMS sensors are not stock as they had to be replaced years ago when I changed from stock wheels. But they read fine on the dash.

like mentioned above make sure you are using the right adaptation. I dont think my jscan had 2 options like above. Also I may have been confused as I only used it to set the low level alarm. ill look at the app and see if i can see something different

This statement pretty much tells me that you should choose the EVIC Adaptation. Should look like this on your iPhone:

View attachment 340772

Just roll thru the options and choose one.

I didn’t see this option. I’ll do some more digging. That looks like what I’m looking for.

Ok, there was no digging involved. It was right there in front of my face. Thank you for the help. Is there any reason I would use the EVIC version rather than the threshold?

If you have EVIC, JScan will change both the low pressure alarm threshold and the target value. Older Jeeps without EVIC only had the low pressure alarm. The non EVIC Adaptation will not work on vehicles with the EVIC option. I hope that makes sense and I’m glad to hear that you figured it out!

Yes it can. The JScan screen will show it locked. It will show locked on your dash intermittently.

I just ordered 35’s and will need to reprogram and came across this write up. Are any of the OBD Adapters preferred over the others on their website. Looking for whatever is most user friendly.
