New JK Colors?

So, a buddy of mine just ordered a 2013 JK Rubi (not the 10th anniversary) in Anvil. I haven't seen the build sheet yet, but I have no reason to believe he is lying to me. Also, and I found this even more interesting, he says the dealer showed him two additional colors that were available for order right now according to the dealer's computer: a dark chocolate brown and what my buddy described as an "ugly-ass" purple. Additionally, according to my buddy, deep cherry red and true blue are no longer available for order. He was told by the dealer that these colors ended up as limited run colors.

I may have to make a trip to my dealer this week to see if I can confirm. Has anyone else recently ordered a JK through a dealer and been shown these colors? According to the dealer, the Jeep website does not have the currently available colors. Again, I have no proof of any of this yet but I will see what I can confirm through my own dealer as soon as I can.

Wasn't furious fuscia supposed to be out around now?

And don't act like you don't know. :cheesy:

That probably explains the "purple" color.

So when is this "buddy" taking delivery? And did you refer him to Wayalife?

Lol. He is in California on business until Monday (I talked to him today via phone on a business matter). I'll see him in person early next week and hopefully get to see his build sheet and find out the delivery date. I battered him with questions and all he really knew was that he tried to order the cherry red, then the true blue. The dealer said no dice on both and then showed him pictures of the other colors. He chose anvil. I grilled him about anvil not being available on non-10th anniversary editions. He understood the difference and swears anvil is now available for order (as is the chocolate brown and the purple).

As for joining Wayalife, of course I told him about it. His response was "I don't plan on doing much to my Jeep...I'll probably keep it basically stock." I laughed and told him "That's what they all say." :cheesy::cheesy:

Haha very cool. Anvil looks bitchin', as far as the stock comment... He really has no idea what he's getting himself into ey? Lol. Don't let him read the JDD thread. 👌

I was also under the impression(due to Chrysler produced info) that anvil was strictly a 10th anniversary color as well!

Cant say that I am sad if they can the furious fuchsia color :icon_crazy: I am really excited to see the rugged brown though. It only made its way out of my possibilities list due to the late(and possible never) availability.

The wrangler forum has pictures of a Rubicon in Rugged Brown, and Its not too bad, probably at the top of my list right now. There was a time when I'd have bought purple, but it'll have to be a very dark shade to get a commitment out of me now.

I had heard that Anvil was a certainty for 2014, and is on the Jeep website as an available color for the Cherokee Trailhawk (which comes standard with a rear locker?!). There is also a Dark Amber and Burnt Copper or something along those lines for possible 2014 colors.

Just spotted dark brown on the lot in Fort Wayne In. Looks good, it's really overcast so a pic would not really show it I assume.

does it have a lot of metal flake in it? Im curious how this looks. I was to anxious to get my JKUR to wait for this color to come out

This is the only pic I could find of the Rugged Brown. Looks alright.

If you can't walk my beat unarmed, maybe you should consider becoming a police officer.

Not too bad, and I am obviously biased, but I am happy I went with my Dune. Then again there are tons of people thinking Dune sucks, so maybe ill be swayed when I see it in person.

Follow up. He did not place the order because he was getting conflicting information, including that it may be possible to order the 10th Anniversary with black seats instead of red.

Same guy swears to me he saw a 10th anniversary anvil jeep at Scheel's today with black leather seats. He is talking to his broker again to see if he can confirm.

I sure wish it was easier to get confirmed information on these damn vehicles. :crazy eyes:

Is "he" so very set on the anvil? Maybe "he" should be a lil more open to other colors..... :D

Lol. I know you think the "he" is really me, but it's not. I have no interest in a two door (wife and three kids so JKU is a must). Plus I would never spend the extra for a 10th AE because I'd take off everything but the hood, including the red stickers.
