No. Nothing wrong on your end except of course maybe the ice. Scotch sucks. It tastes like soggy rope soaked in wet grass clippings.

I’ve not tried scotch but I do put ice in whiskey, and a splash of water sometimes

Well, it’s been since October of 2020 but we finally got the barrel in from the Maker’s Mark Private Select tasting. I promptly bought a case, and it’s just as great as I remember from that night.

I was offered this at a tasting and went ahead and bought a bottle. It's ok. Not as peaty and a little sweet. Like if you mix 1/2 scotch 1/2 bourbon.

I just grabbed a bottle too. Have yet to try it but you're right for $19 it was worth the gamble. Plus knowing Costco it'll be pretty good. The Kirkland spirits I have tried have all been pretty good.
