Parker Area AZ/CA Dec 2014

Headed out to Quartzsite AZ to meet up with my Dad and his group the day after Christmas to run a few trails and do some site seeing. Weather was cold in the morning with clear skies that made for some spectacular views.

We started in Parker early Friday morning and went the back way to the Desert Bar which is closed on weekdays so we had the trail to ourselves. from there we headed for Presidents Choice trail via True Grit. I guess most go down True Grit we decided to go up. Presidents choice was lots of fun. You can pick from numerous little off shoots on the trail from washes to narrow water falls climbs and tight S turns and then back down over some fun drop offs. Saturday we headed back to Parker on the California side and headed the bikeway up to Finger Rock (I think it is Called). This trail starts with a nice hill climb then across a long spine with your tires just on the trail - Full width might be interesting here. The trail climbs up a bit more to a old grave site then to I fun wash with some low range fun and some very tight turns for a 4 door. Body damage is possible here but only due to how tight it is. There is one spot that is climbing left turn with a jagged rock on the inside wanted to take out your drivers rear and hard top - I made it clean but broke all the clips on my drivers rear fender :thumb: Then up do a few mines along with some old building full of old core and soil samples. Then off to a tailings pile that is so big and vast we can't figure out where it all came from as there is no visible mines in the general area. The trail finishes up with a fun little sand stone red rock wash that as some easy single side boulder climbs on it.

This was a great 2 days of wheeling and a great way to finish up the year

Here are some photos, I was solo as usual so I have to rely on others photos or take them while driven LOL!

Note these are all out of order due to different cameras and phones and resizing changing the dates - but hey its just Jeep porn!

Drove to the top of a hill for the view!
