Looking at getting the JKS 2.5" J-Venture Lift.....

Besides the components that come with the kit, is there anything else I should be adding to the kit? ie, brake lines, control arms, sway bars....

Planning on running 17x9 -12offset with 35x12.5 tires.

That kit appears to be good in the sense it has almost everything you need, and is available with their shocks or a set of Fox 2.0s. I'd opt for the Fox shocks in that kit and yes, I'd get whatever wasn't in the kit that is in fact needed, so I'd purchase a set of new front and rear control arms, extended brake lines, and a set of new front and rear driveshafts as well if I went with this kit specifically. With all the right components you should have no trouble running those 35s.

I’ve got the JKS J-Venture 2.5” with Fox Shocks on a 2 door JK on 35’s. I love it.

Although the only comparison I have is a 4” Superlift lift on a 4 door JK… don’t go that route.
