Jeep Troubles JL

Metalcloak has drop control arm brackets for the front and rear. They also have a bolt-on long arm suspension.

Lifting any vehicle creates a cascade of problems that should be solved, but many people ignore them because they can be difficult and expensive to solve. As you learned, the control arm angles deviate from ideal. But also, driveshaft angles change, axle pinion angles change. As you raise the Jeep, the front axle pinion angle would prefer be rotated up toward the transfer case to keep the u-joint angles acceptable. However, rotating the axle toward the transfer case reduces steering caster. To correct this, either serious axle surgery or housing replacement is needed. In the long run, these problems reveal themselves as poor ride quality, poor handling, accelerated wear of driveshaft u-joints, etc. The higher you lift, the more these issues become apparent.
