The Family & I did some hiking in Sequoia. Nothing hard.. because we aren’t hardcore... about 4 miles each day was enough for us.. But our short hikes brought some great scenery. Pics never do it justice. damn, I miss hiking.
Ever since I blew out both knees all this has come to a screeching halt.
Considering getting knee replacement on the left knee since it's the worst and hoping with today's technology it'll allow me to get back out
so many beautiful areas out there
Do it. My grandfather had both of his replaced twice. The last time was probably 15 years ago so he had the old technology. He is 91 now and while he is slow getting around, it is not his knees that are holding him up. He worked 16 hour days until he was 84.

While I usually agree that most pics don't do the scenery justice, yours definitely do it justice.

You should have taken your 5wt...

I have always loved to hike & backpack...then herniating the L5-S1 and bulging the S1-S2 ended my backpacking days...and I have had both knees scoped for torn meniscus's. But I still enjoy a good hike...and these days, usually with a fly rod. I know a fishing guide who is a couple years older than me that has had back surgery and one knee replacement (waiting on his second knee replacement) who just moved from eastern WA to Sisters OR...he still actively wade fishes/guides, and still enjoys hiking. You can too...

Thanks Ed!... Funny thing is I had ALL my fishing gear... waders, fly equipment and the kids gear in the Jeep at all times... But this trip became all about hiking & relaxing. I just couldn't find a couple hours in the right spot to make it happen.... And what was also weird is in 3 days I never saw anyone else fishing. Next time... in a less Tourist destination... I want to explore more on the Kings Canyon side where I think all the good fishing is... and some Jeeping areas.

I'm hearing the new technology is much more precise and less prone to the side-breaks that would occur years ago.
thanks for the encouragement (y)

Took the Family out for a 4 mile Hike off Angeles Crest, on Mothers Day morning.... I picked up some Hill People Gear Packs which are Really comfortable. The Tarahumara was supposed to be for the wife, but the kids were fighting over it... And I got an Umlindi for myself.
