As usual you guys post some great pics of some great places. What's going on this memorial weekend? I bet you already have a plan.

There are many beautiful areas along 395. Lots offond memories there of childhood camping & hunting/fishing trips.

Will be up there this summer with my old man in the Big Pine area running a lot of the trails we used to run in his old Land Cruiser, except it is his turn to ride shotgun and my turn to drive.

yeah, the 395 is one of our favorite places to be in the entire state of California.

Cool idea! I love looking at pictures and videos when I am stuck in the office or at home.

I was heading south on 395 just now, but had to get off at Mt. Rose Hwy...very tempted to keep going though. :sigh:

well, i sure hope you were able to keep on going.

Don't forget to stop off at Schat's Bakery in Bishop.

unfortunately, we didn't go up that far on this trip but, we do love Schat's.

i dislike this thread :yup:

yeah, we missed you guys on this one :grayno:

Cool, going into the mine,, how far do you get to go in?

Looks like a fun trip !!

you can drive about a quarter mile back and still have enough room to turn around about 6 JK's. if one is so inclined, there are 8 levels of mine shafts and addits that climb about 500 ft up and you could easily spend 12 hours or more exploring them all. not real safe to do but, i do know of people who've done it.

That was pretty awesome. Where is this place?

this is up in the owens valley, ca.
