The EV saleable in California can also be sold in other states. Many people are intentionally buying EVs and they may be a good match for their daily usage model. A Wrangler type vehicle does not work well in the form of an EV given how they are often used.

I don't see any reason that Stelantis can't just sell EV-only (or hydrogen if they have it) models in California while continuing to sell gas models in the rest of the world. California is big but not that big.

This is by far the best advice. Why pay now if you can pay later (or perhaps not at all)? The money you save can be used for anything and it will grow over time. You might ram the Jeep into a tree and then the money paid for the warranty is totally lost.

It seems that you may have a wiring issue. Perhaps a poor (intermittent high resistance) connection, or even critter issues (mouse chews). This could lead to a reduced reading from the dash since the dash electronics, and other Jeep electronics, draws current while it is on and the damaged...
