Preset tire deflators?

I currently use an ARB deflator and it works as intended.

I’ve seen some ads about preset tire deflators. Does anyone here use them? Pros/Cons?

I have a set of Staun tire deflators. They work great.

Pros:
Simple to use, simple design, they take up almost no room, accurate, set it and forget it.

Maybe a Con:
getting them set takes a few extra minutes but after that, I have never messed with them again.

I have used a set of preset ones before. I liked it because I could put them on the stems, open them and chat until they stop letting air out. Then just unscrew and put them away. Saved my back for sure.

Are you talking about the little brass ones? If so, I've found them to work about 70% of the time. For the cost, I think they're worth it but definitely not 100% accurate. But realistically, there's no need to have the perfect number every time in my opinion. I think there is a decent range of pressure (within 5 psi of what you're aiming for) that will work just fine. Like Sgt_USMC said, you just put them on, shoot the shit with your buddies, and then remove them when they stop hissing.

I will agree with you on not being totally accurate but they do come within a few psi. I have my deflators (forget the brand) set to 12 psi and they would usually end up around 8 when all said and done.

I have mine set at 15psi (no beadlocks) and they almost always end up within about 3 psi. But twice one of them stuck and kept leaking (not sure if it was the same one of course).

I use Stauns… like mentioned sometimes not accurate.. maybe the temp plays a part in that.. I tend to pull them off a little early then dial each tire where I want it with my inflation regulator.

I had stauns. Never used them. The arb deflator is what I always used and left the stauns in the center console.

I use the ARB deflator or the homemade speedflate deal to deflate for wheeling. However, I’d like to get some and set them for 20psi for when you just want to air down on a forest road to go camping/fishing.
