JL Rubicon sway bar install on a JK Sport?

After watching the video of the JK Rubicon sway bar going on the 2 door JL I got all excited and picked up a 2020 JL Rubicon sway bar to put on my 2014 JKU Sport for cheap. I ordered the EVO manual knob as well. I got the sway bar home and it doesn’t want to fit. Am I missing something? Not sure how the JK bar fit on the JL. Seems like if it goes one way it should go the other.

Any ideas? If it doesn’t work I’ve got a JL Rubicon sway bar for sale and searching for a JK bar.

Thanks

You just need to slide the mounts over to make it work. The bushings are tight but they will move. Use some WD40 if needed.
I’ll have to mess with it tomorrow. Looks like when the bushings are slid all the way apart they get into the curved area on the sway bar and start to get crooked. These bushings will also need to be modified as they have a weird triangle shape on the under side where they mount to the frame. Wanna trade your JK bar for a JL? Hehe.

You can take the bushings off and replace them with what you had on your old sway bar.

Well I removed my AntiRock last night and tried physically installing the JL sway bar on my 2014 JKU Sport and it's a no go. The radius sections of the bar itself are closer together than the JK sway bar. I can't get the mounting brackets and bushings far enough apart to fit in the holes on the frame. Oh well, anybody need a JL Rubicon sway bar?

So a JK sway bar will fit a JL but not the other way around?
If I got this right Eddie had to slide is mounts closer together but what you cant do is slide them farther apart.

Well that sucks but good info. If you want, I'd be willing to swap what I have with what you have. Let me know if you're interested and we'll figure out the details.
