Hello from Reno

Hi, my name is Peter, and I have an automobile addiction. I'm also a Jeep NOOB.

I've owned many cars in the last 20 years but never a pickup truck; some notable ones include a Nissan GT-R, Subaru STi, Spec Boxster, Spec Miata, FJ Cruiser, a stock JKU, and most recently a Tesla Model Y.

I've done some unconventional stuff with the Tesla because I love pushing things to the limit. Most recently I towed a (probably overweight) 4x8 U-Haul cargo trailer with all my belongings up the 395 from LA to Reno last year. Ask me about why I think EVs are not quite ready for towing long distances yet 😅.

Given the limitations of the Tesla as my only vehicle, I just bought my first truck ever from Kent at Petersons in Idaho (thanks to Eddie's YouTube videos), a 2022 JT Mojave that I am expecting to pick up any day now!

I'm hoping to build the JT into a multi-function rig that can hold its own on easy-to-moderate trails, tow my RZR around, and haul wood from Home Depot.

I've been lurking on these forums since I ordered and am loving the vibe. No BS advice, no hidden agenda to push products or vendors, and all the while maintaining a positive and welcoming attitude.

Welcome and congrats. Post some pics of your other rigs if you have them. Especially the gtr and sti.

Welcome from Springfield MO. I just bought a 2021 Gladiator Rubicon and absolutely love it so far. The Mohave was my runner up choice. Can't wait to see some pics of your JT.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome!

@WJCO - sadly those are cars from my younger years and are long gone... was fun while it lasted. Never modded, just raced them stock, so not much to look at from the outside anyways.

@DirtHeadDavis - can't argue there, lived in LA / SGV last year and I always see Raptors, TRD Pros, and Gladiators at Home Depot flexing on the speed bumps.

Coincidentally, Kent just sent me pictures this morning of my JT arriving on their lot. He has been absolutely upstanding throughout the entire process. Ordered 11/5 and I'm surprised its already here.
