that sounds like it, check the other links for bad bushings before ordering replacement bushings. I'd pull it off and take a drive, betting that's it.

take a closer look at the threads to see if they are crossed. get the right size thread cutter die or you may have to replace the shock. I've never had one fall off like that.

you would be surprised how badly sound travels in the Jeep. I chased a sound that I was sure it was something loose in the back and it turned out to be the hardtop screws that hold it towards the front under the removable panels. Actually found it by accident when I took the panels off and...

I like the idea, great way to get all those useful small items out of the glove box and center console. I'm thinking if not for the panel contours, the velcro would stick to the existing panel liners. They've got some nice camera bags, good timing as I'm looking for one (y)
